Started in 2009 off the back of a runaway idea, The Bag Bar was conceived by Pip and Sue, two Sabahan girls who share a love of all things unique and one-of-a-kind.

Sue has since left in May 2024 to embark on a journey of soul-searching and new adventures, stepping into exciting and unchartered territory while Pip will be carrying TBB onwards and forwards with new vision.

Architecturally-trained and loves anything design-driven, Pip started sewing bags in 2003, which she sold at a stall in London’s famed Spitalfields Market. She loves making things with her hands and thinks bags are just like buildings: they are 3D space made from piecing 2D together.

The Bag Bar's fabric creations are knowns to display a knack for the curiously whimsical while striving for a minimalist shape by focusing on colours, patterns and textures.
